Contributor Talent Manager

Location: Los Angeles or New York

Description: We're looking for an exceptional individual to join our team full time in Los Angeles. This person will work alongside a team of dedicated people in order to grow our contributor relationships and fulfill subscriber expectations. This job requires a tremendous amount of creativity and collaboration as part of the team responsible for working with our diverse and interesting collection of contributors, and making sure that the packages we send on their behalf to subscribers exceed expectations.

Quarterly is a subscription service that aims to change the way we connect with the people that we follow and find interesting. We spend so much of our lives connecting with people online that we forget the value of tangible interactions that happen in the real world. Quarterly wants to bridge that gap by allowing anyone to subscribe to influential contributors of their choice and receive meaningful items that are curated and crafted to tell a compelling story.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage and nurture 20+ or more contributor relationships
  • Drive the curation process to ensure tasks are completed on time
  • Provide creative direction on issue contents
  • Work with Contributors to drive higher subscription rates
  • Monitor and optimize social media exposure
  • Source, negotiate pricing and procure all issue items
  • Provide alternatives when materials are not available
  • Work closely with the fulfillment team to ensure packing materials and pack out specs match items ordered
  • Develop sourcing relationships in order to secure the best pricing possible
  • Manage to a budget
  • Strive to reduce costs and improve processes

Requirements:

  • Some experience in a start-up environment, special consideration for experience with corporate procurement, fundraising, retail or online buying, social media expertise
  • Liberal arts and mixed media background, with deep Internet knowledge
  • Strong computer and organization skills
